Jane Austen’s joyful romance is set partly in Regency Bath and partly at Northanger Abbey in rural Gloucestershire. Our naïve heroine Catherine Morland is obsessed with reading Gothic horror novels which fuel her over-active imagination. In her mind, nothing is ever what it seems. Thank goodness she finds a down-to-earth, unsentimental suitor in Henry Tilney. But with Henry comes the rest of his family and their idiosyncratic ways.
