The Lady In The Van by Alan Bennett

23/3 -28/3; 19:30
In 1974 homeless Miss Mary Shepherd moves her broken down van into Alan Bennett's garden in north London. What was meant to be a temporary arrangement ends up lasting 15 years and Bennett begins to piece together the fascinating aspects of her life. A deeply religious woman, eccentric and stubborn in equal measure, she has, it seems, quite a tale to tell. Alan Bennett’s uniquely observant story-telling gives an account of those years and was later adapted for a 2015 film of the same name.
